One of these days I’ll have some time to finish all the posts I’ve gotten ideas for and started. Meanwhile, here are a few things for us to stay busy with:

April 9 is “Acoustic Blend,” a concert at our church in Chicago that will feature live music by me, Carrie, Peter Devins, and several of our other friends. It will include folk, roots, singer-songwriter, and other fun acoustic stylings.

For more information, see the link to the church website here. If you’re on Facebook, it’s an event here.

We’ll try to get some audio or video recordings if we can for those of you who can’t make it. (No promises yet, but maybe.)

Those who befriend or follow me on social networking services (the relevant links are in my profile, if you’re reading this on my website) might have already seen these, but for those who haven’t, here are a few very good articles I’ve stumbled across lately. Generally music-related; some witty, some deadly serious.

Music in the Midst of Chaos: Jesus and the Cellist of Sarajevo. http://ping.fm/n0Y1R

Joel Brown: “I worshiped music, now I worship God.” http://ping.fm/m2bUS

Bob Kauflin: “What do you say when you lead worship”? (Silly, followed by some sensible.) http://ping.fm/qevY5

Kathy Escobar: “Excellence” doesn’t have much to do with Jesus. http://ping.fm/34cbt

“Sound Doxology”: Worship leaders, imitate John Newton. http://ping.fm/963pi

Elizabeth Esther: How to talk to somebody living in an abusive church/cult group. http://ping.fm/fOJaC

Gizmodo: Some interesting thoughts on indie artists and the state of the music industry. http://ping.fm/E6M2y

That’s all I’ve got time for at the moment. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to return to something like a regular posting schedule. If you have a good idea for a topic you’d like to see me write about, now would be a great time to send it on in!
