This just in from the Department of Really Awesome Things that Made My Day:

Yes, kids: it’s the heartwarming adventures of mischievous little John Calvin and his possibly imaginary sidekick Thomas Hobbes. Imaginary because he might not have been born for another century or so, but who cares, this is fantastic.

(Fun fact: Bill Watterson really did name his comic strip characters after the theologian and the philosopher, respectively. No surprise that it was one of the most brilliant cartoons this side of Peanuts.)

You’re welcome.

Hat tip: Over the Hedge. Artist: Spacecoyote.

  • Oh, yes, I remember him mentioning that in his book. He also was trying to dispel the myth that he was a troublesome kid like Calvin.

  • I LOVE Calvin and Hobbes — when my daughter was still at home we used to read them together

  • I was still trying to get over the giant papier-mache puppets of doom. Thanks for aiding in my recovery with this light hearted illustration. 🙂

  • This equally made my day! A-maze-a-zing!!!
