(And Privacy Policy)
The following is quasi-legal mumbo-jumbo and, for the most part, is extremely boring. But some of it may actually be useful, particularly if you’re planning on downloading and using any of my music. It couldn’t hurt to give it a read.
By using this website and its associated resources, you are agreeing to the following terms of use:
Songs and Other Resources
Among other features, ericpazdziora.com includes links to downloadable arrangements of original compositions by Eric Pazdziora that are intended for use in congregational worship (hereinafter ’songs’).
To access these songs, you must register as a user of this site. This prevents the songs from being indiscriminately downloaded and distributed. This requires verification of an email address (which will never be made public– see further under “Privacy” below) and creation of a username and password.
There is no fee to register and download songs. However, we do politely request that if you download songs, you consider supporting this ministry through a donation, prayer, or (if those are beyond your reach) one of the other ways explained fully at the link. There is no obligation.
When using the songs, the following conditions apply:
You do not have (and will not get) permission to:
- Distribute or reproduce the songs in any form without giving proper attribution, including the full copyright notice.
- Plagiarize, including but not limited to passing the songs off as your own work.
- Use or modify the songs for any purpose that is defamatory, libelous, obscene, profane, or otherwise offensive.
- Use the songs in any way that is connected with or would imply that the composer endorses any partisan or political movements.
These actions are against all applicable U.S. and international copyright laws. I really don’t want to take legal action, so don’t give me a reason to and we’ll all be happy!
You must get permission before you:
- Use the songs in any commercial setting, including concerts with admission fees, broadcasting on any commercial channels, etc.
- Make any audio or video recordings of these songs in any form for any commercial purposes.
- Reproduce, reprint, publish, or distribute the sheet music for any purpose other than instruction (see below).
- Distribute the songs from any other website or internet venue. (However, we do encourage you to link to this website from your own.)
- Make arrangements or derivative works based on the songs for publication or any purposes other than non-commercial performance use.
If you want to do any of the above, contact me first for permission with the specifics of your project. It’s not that I don’t want these things to happen; it’s that I don’t want them to happen indiscriminately. If you ask first, I’ll likely be more than willing to support you. If in doubt, ask first. It’s easiest all around.
You do have permission to:
- Use the songs in any non-commercial setting, including church services, personal worship, and not-for-profit concert performances.
- Reproduce the text and music of the songs only for purposes of instruction (for example, teaching the song to a band or a congregation, or displaying on a screen or bulletin in a worship service), with full attribution included.
- Make audio or video recordings of these songs for non-commercial purposes only, including recordings of church services or concerts.
- Upload recordings to non-commercial websites only (including but not limited to YouTube). Send me a link to any performances and I just might feature them here.
- Make arrangements or derivative works based on the songs only for a group you are personally involved in, and that will only be used for the purposes above. However, if you like you can ask me to do it for you; I’m a professional composer and arranger, after all, and I’ll have some good ideas for these songs in particular.
Some parts of the songs (e.g. texts or melodies from pre-existing hymns) may be in the public domain. All such elements will be clearly marked. In these cases, the preceding does not apply, as these elements are legally free for general use.
Note: None of the preceding applies to any of my compositions and arrangements which are published by commercial publishers. For information on using these, contact the publishers directly.
Website Content
All website content is copyright © Eric M. Pazdziora. All rights are reserved. If you would like to reproduce any of the website content, including writing and blog articles, ask first. Don’t plagiarize. Linking is of course encouraged.
Commenting
When posting a comment to the blog, follow the same common-sense rules you’d use for commenting anywhere. Remember, once a comment goes on the Internet, anyone can read it, so don’t post anything you wouldn’t want a stranger, or your employer, or your mother to see. Keep all discussions civil and polite. Comments considered inappropriate may be deleted, edited, or moderated at the sole discretion of the site administrator. We believe in freedom of speech, but also in common courtesy. No “spam,” automated comments, or unsolicited marketing comments allowed, period. Users who repeatedly violate this policy will be banned.
Contacting
Any communications you send through the contact form will be treated as private and confidential, and no portion of them will be published unless you expressly give permission to do so.
Privacy Policy
To use certain features of this website, such as commenting or downloading, you may be required to give contact information such as an email address. This helps reduce comment spam and indiscriminate use of ericpazdziora.com resources. Your contact information will never, ever, ever be sold, given out, made public, or otherwise disclosed to any third party, except as required by law for a criminal investigation (a contingency that I’m going to guess will be pretty remote). Email marketing and spam are evil. However, we do assume you’re OK with getting the occasional email from this website. If you object to that, you can opt out at any time.
Modification
We reserve the right to modify these terms of service at any time without notice, and any changes will become effective immediately.
You read that all the way to the end? I’m impressed.
